The ant, Monomorium pharaonis (Latin Name), is commonly known as the Pharaoh ants. The name possibly arises from the mistaken tradition that it was one of the epidemics of ancient Egypt (Peacock et al. 1950). Pharaoh ants is distributed all over the world.
